Introducing a new section here at the 'ol Freedom Fortress: Joe's Newstand, where you can find out what's going on in the wild and crazy Freedom Force community. The reporting is contibuted by J. Gregory, aka shadojak, (who had been posting them as "Daily Bugles" on the FF forums). You can expect updates every week or so.

Seven (7) new recipes for Elongated Man, Flash (Jay), Hawkgirl, Maggott, Mr. Fantastic, Plastic Man, and Steppenwolf. Plus updates to: Batman, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Daredevil, Dark Phoenix, Darkseid (new mesh!), Green Arrow (new mesh!), Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Martian Manhunter (new mesh!), Owlman, and Speedy.

I've also updated many of the skin and mesh links on my recipes to make it easier for you to get what you're looking for.

Last (but certainly not least!), a new EZ Power FX installer (v1.2) is now available! Grab it on the Goodies page to get a hold of a truckload of new fx, bringing the total number up from 32 to 109! Yes, you heard me, 109! Special thanks to Captain Uncular for doing the heavy lifting on this update!

MEGA-SIZE UPDATE !!!

Six new recipes: Black Cat, Madame Xanadu, Max Mercury, Nightcrawler, Robin (Dick Grayson), and Shocker.

Plus, a new EZ Power FX installer (v1.1) is now ready! Grab it on the Goodies page to unleash 10 new fx and 3 updates: Batarang Bola, Batarang Edged, Batarang Explosive (updated), Bola, Hamster Dance (don't ask :) ), Red Tornado, Shuriken Explosive (renamed), Snowdrift, Snowstorm, S-Shield Wrap, Teleport BAMF, and Twin Beam Red. I also corrected a problem with Tangle Beam sounds.

And to take advantage of all the new power fx: Updates to Amazo, Batman, Flash, Flash (Barry), Ice, Johnny Quick, Kid Flash, Martian Manhunter, Mon-El, Nightwing, Owlman, Professor Zoom, Red Tornado, Robin, Sinestro, Storm, Superman, Tempest, Ultra Boy, Ultraman, and Vision.

Continuing with updates, I completed all patch-related tweaking, making minor mods to:
Apocalypse, Azrael-Batman, Bane, Black Adam, Black Canary, Black Widow, Booster Gold, Brainiac 5, Bronze Tiger, Bullseye, Captain America, Captain Atom, Captain Boomerang, Captain Marvel, Colossus, Cyclops, Daredevil, Deathstroke, Doomsday, Dr. Strange, Electro, Enchantress, Fire, Galactus, Kang, Lightning Lad, Magneto, Marvel Girl, Raven, Rogue, Spider-Man, Superboy, Thanos, Thing, Thor, and Wolverine. (whew!)

Also, all hero recipe pages have been updated to show the proper prestige point values (the patch affected these a bit).

The new EZ Power FX installer is ready! Grab it on the Goodies page and instantly have access to 17 custom power fx created by many talented folks, many of which I have used in my recipes. Including never-before seen fx by Mahu, created for the upcoming JLA mod.

I have also updated various recipes to use these FX and because of the new patch, including: Amazo, Batman, Flash, Flash (Barry), Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Green Lantern (John), Green Lantern (Kyle), Guy Gardner, Hawkeye, Johnny Quick, Kid Flash, Power Ring, Professor Zoom, Speedy, Steel, Superman, Troia, and Wonder Woman.

Note: These power fx should work whether or not you have the patch, but I have not tested it without the patch.

Minor update. Fixed the sound problem on the Spidey's Webs power fx. Also added a sound to Cap's Shield power fx. Finally, updated the Gambit recipe to use the new "Kinetic Card" effect and gave that a sound as well.

Remember to get individual custom fx, you must have:
- The latest version of the hero file for the character
- The fx.dat and sounds.dat files from my Power FX page (look under "Goodies")
- The individual Power fx files (also on my Power FX page)

I've released a couple of more hero recipes which you may soon be seeing in action in a mod near you: Firestorm and Red Tornado!

Plus, updated Captain America to use a custom power effect when throwing his shield (supplied by SpiderWolf). I wish we could see more of these custom powers like Thor's Hammer, Batarangs, etc.

Been extremely busy working on two new FF mod projects, but I do have six new recipes for you all today: Finish off your Classic X-Men team with Archangel, Iceman, and Marvel Girl. Also for the X-fans, Sabretooth and Gambit! Finally, for the DC followers: Mon-El!

Plus, updated the Spider-Man recipe to use Irrational's new "Tangle Beam" power effect and a minor tweak to Captain Atom.

A bunch of updates today. Added new recipes for Iron Man, Hulk, Cyclops, and Captain Marvel (DC). Added profiles for nine more Freedom Force Heroes to complete that set. Introduced a new pulldown to allow you to choose what list of recipes you would like to see. Minor tweaks (mostly animations, but a few had powers fine-tuned) to all the previous recipes, so you may want to check 'em out.
